Seen@Turnitin: Our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across the globe.

At Turnitin, our people are what sets us apart. And just as our technology levels the playing field for students, we’re co-creating a culture where diversity of thought and our authentic identities can flourish, creating a working environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

Through Seen@Turnitin, our strategic plan for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) we actively advance diversity within our employee community. We recognize that our workplace needs to be as diverse as the global populations we serve, but that diversity in itself is not enough; this is why we continue to build a workplace culture centered around inclusion and belonging, and continue to ensure that our practices and policies enable equity. We’re a company where our global team members can grow their careers, live their authentic lives, and feel Seen@Turnitin

Our Commitments

Transparent Data

We meaningfully build representation of genders and ethnicities across our leadership team and our employee population.

We care about diversity among our employees and the global populations we serve. Together we welcome and jointly create an inclusive environment for all expressions of identity.

Welcoming Workplace

Not only is an understanding of our workforce data critical to proactively increasing diversity, it also allows insight into inclusion & belonging in our teams. With transparent diversity and engagement data, we can have meaningful conversations and actions, continuing to build a culture where everyone can thrive and be their authentic selves. Through this we cultivate a culture of curiosity, embrace our global mindset, connect through our similarities, and celebrate our differences.

Employee Resource Groups

Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are grassroots, employee-led organizations which are centered around a shared historically underrepresented group. They create spaces for community and networking, educate the employee population on matters relating to the group, and advise on business decisions and policies to ensure a fair and equitable experience for their members.

All our ERGs welcome members- those who identify as part of the group, and allies- those who do not identify as part of the group, but want to lend their power and privilege to support and advocate.

Currently, we have five ERGs at Turnitin:

  • Women at Turnitin Thriving (W.A.T.T.): for our Women-identifying team members and allies
  • BlackSource: for our Black and African descent team members and allies
  • Pride: for our LGBTQIA+ team members and allies
  • Integrity without Stigma (IwS): mental health and wellbeing
  • Neurodiversity: for our Neurodivergent team members and allies

Building Community

Through our ERGs, and in partnership with ACTivate, our Social Impact programme, we work with non-profit organizations that support historically underrepresented groups in the education space.
