First and foremost, I am a Catholic convert. Before I became Catholic, I took just about every other spiritual/philosophical ideology out for a test drive; they all left me wanting something I couldn’t quite put my finger on. Well, it put the finger on me after my first Tridentine Mass. The story of my journey from being San Francisco’s #1 rated “elite” call girl into the Catholic Church can be read in Patrick Madrid’s book Surprised By Life–I used the pen name AnneMarie Schreiber for that project.

These days, I spend my time writing, sewing vestments and altar linens, and watching old movies. I also teach elementary-level language arts and a variety of high-school-level writing courses, as well as sewing classes for all ages. I currently attend a Melkite rite parish, St. Elias in Los Gatos, California.

The name of my blog is a reference to Hosea 8:7: “For they shall sow wind, and reap a whirlwind…” This ol’ world has been sowing wind for an awfully long time – it seems to me that our current culture may very well be the whirlwind harvest.
